The college admissions game is getting more cutthroat, especially as it pertains to big-name universities that employers love to see on a resume. This is a fact, and the numbers reflect it. For instance, community college enrollment dropped by 20% last application season. On the flip-side, Harvard saw a whopping 42% increase in applications submitted, with other Ivy League and prominent UCs like UCLA, Berkeley, etc also seeing double-digit increases in applicants. There is simply increasing competition when it comes to gaining admission to top-tier universities, and as competition increases, the college admissions process has become a more arduous one, and one that requires more strategy than it used to.
